Bodo Birk
Director – Erlangen International Comic Salons
Bodo Birk, born in 1968 in Nürnberg, holds a degree in Theatre/Media and German Studies as well as Political Science. During his studies, he co-founded and organised the student theatre festival ARENA and was employed at the Cultural Office of the City of Erlangen, i.a. working for Interlit 4 – International Literature-Days (1997). From 1997 until 2001 he was head of the public relations and press department at Theater Erlangen. After returning to the Cultural Office in 2001, he took over the position of festival director of the Erlangen Poetenfest, the international figuren.theater.festival and the Erlangen International Comic Salon in 2003. Since 2014 he runs the department “Festivals and Cultural Programmes” and acts as deputy head of the Cultural Office. He has been a member of the “Max und Moritz” Award jury since 2004.
